The Fairfield Police Department provides 24-hour law enforcement services within the City. These services include traffic enforcement, criminal investigations, accident investigations, animal control, and safety programs.

The Fairfield Police Department also has specialty units consisting of canine, special response team (SWAT), and bike patrol. The Law Center is a consolidated facility that consists of the City of Fairfield Police Department and Tele-Communications Center; and the Jefferson County Sheriff’s Office and Jail.
